For most people, the worst part of a heat wave is the sudden increase in cooling costs to reach the level of comfort room temperature now. The worst thing about an extreme heat wave for those who live on a budget like me is the beginning and inability to sleep a restful night's sleep. There are many smart home devices that automatically adjust the temperature in your home to a comfortable temperature, even when you're not there. This saves energy. Below, we'll look at some of these devices. Do not allow the spread of bacteria and mold According to the University of Central Florida there are four fundamental requirements that must be met for mold development and spread: Presence of mold spores. The mold spores aren't just too small to see with the naked eye. They're literally everywhere in the air and there's not a way to escape these, so don't fret about this. Food for mold. The mold can thrive in organic materials, but they're most likely to be found in areas that have papers, wood and organic fibers. Clean your home regularly to prevent mold growth. Warm temperatures. Temperature control is not a good option to prevent the growth of mold. The mold thrives at temperatures that are suitable for humans. High humidity. Mold thrives in high humidity. Bacteria also need water to thrive, and can begin to grow exponentially at a relative humidity of 50% or greater. It can cause irritation (e.g. eyes) and can trigger respiratory problems, while bacteria may cause serious illness (e.g. Legionnaires' disease). It is possible to reduce the growth of mold and bacteria in your home by controlling the humidity. This can improve your health. Alleviate Physical Discomfort Temperatures and humidities outside of the optimal range for humans can cause lots of discomfort directly and discomfort. Many of us are aware of the pain of suffering from heat waves or being surprised by cold snaps. The unlucky among us have to contend with both each year. Improve Productivity at Work Last but not least, the benefits of controlling the humidity and app for room temperature in your home are all mental. A healthy environment can have a positive impact on your mood leading to more positive thoughts and actions. On the other hand, this is pretty obvious, doesn't it? It's difficult to perform high-quality work when your hands are frozen or shaking. The same goes for the hands that are sticky and hot and melting from heat.
